Rechargeable batteries are an economical and ecologically sound alternative to batteries. Although nickel-metal hydride cells are less robust than nickel-cadmium cells, they have a higher capacity that can easily compete with lithium systems in top products. The lazy-battery effect, comparable to the classic memory effect in NiCd, is also not an issue here when intelligent charging technology is used.
