Ausgehend von der Schließstellung kann mit Mehrzweckstrahlrohren ein Voll- oder Sprühstrahl abgegeben werden. Sprühwinkel und Tropfengröße können durch Zwischenstellungen im Sprühstrahlbereich beliebig verändert werden. Gereinigt werden kann das Strahlrohr leicht durch Umschalten der Strahlform. Mehrzweckstrahlrohre sind nicht für die Anwendung im Innenangriff geeignet.
Bei den Ausführungen in Polyamid bestehen Rohrstück, Düse und Mundstück aus kältebeständigem und schlagfestem Polyamid.
