Bei Federzügen erhöht sich die Seilkraft, wenn das Seil ausgefahren wird. Nach der Benutzung wird die Last (z. B. ein Werkzeug) mit Hilfe des Federzuges wieder in die Ausgangsposition zurückgezogen. Dadurch ist es möglich, Arbeitsplätze mit Kraftschraubern oder anderen Werkzeugen von oben zu versorgen und so einen freien Arbeitsraum zu erhalten. Die Spannung kann mit dem Drehknopf einfach reguliert werden.
