HCS
Carbon steel for use in softer materials such as wood, fiberboard, soft plastics.
HSS
Fully hardened high speed steel for use in harder materials such as metal, aluminum and non-ferrous metals.
BiM
Bimetal, a highly flexible combination of HSS and HCS for the highest demands. The particularly flexible BIM saw blades are used, for example, when there is a risk of shank breakage. Their service life is about ten times longer than that of HCS blades.
HM
Carbide saw blades are particularly powerful. HM teeth bite through fiberglass-reinforced plastic, cement fiberboard or gypsum board. HM tooth strips cut stainless steel. A coating with HM grains (= reef) cuts abrasive materials such as tiles or GRP.
