The 3M Scotchlok connector is suitable for the connection of solid or stranded conductors in the installation wiring technology and allows a through connection even on uncut conductors. It can be used both in the control , measurement and control area as well as in the automotive electrical and switchgear construction.Its operation is based on the principle of a U element: the conductors to be connected are guided into the connector without having to be stripped beforehand. By applying light pressure with the Scotchlok pliers, the U elements remove the wire insulation, increase the contact area and make contact with the conductor. The U element, which is under spring tension, encloses the individual cores and ensures a mechanically strong, vibration-proof, electrically flawless and permanent connection.The connector has been tested in the high-voltage test field of 3M Deutschland GmbH in accordance with VDE 0606, 0607, 0303, 0470 and IEC23F and has met all conditions. The Scotchlok connectors are all UL and C.S.A. listed.
