For infrared heaters.
The thermocouple consists of two electrical conductors connected at the tip.
The inner conductor is made of constantan and is -3.25 mV/100 °C in the thermoelectric voltage series. The outer conductor is made of chromium-nickel and is at +2.25 mV/100 °C.
The potential difference (U/100 °C) is thus 5.5 mV/100 °C.
The
two conductors are insulated from each other.
When properly heated, a voltage of approx. 30 - 35 mV is generated.
When the thermostat circuit is closed via the magnet insert inside the thermoelectric flame monitor, a current of approx. 0.8 - 1.2 A flows.
