When opium
or opium derivatives (heroin, morphine) are present in the sample to be tested, a color change from white to red to blue-violet occurs.
In the presence of amphetamines in the sample under investigation, a red-orange color forms, changing to brown after some time.
In the presence of MDMA (ecstasy) in the sample under investigation, a color
change from white to dark purple to black occurs.
