Preparation of the slurry (liquid manure): 150 grams of horsetail pellets with about 10 liters... more
Preparation of the slurry (liquid manure):
150 grams of horsetail pellets with about 10 liters of rainwater prepare (adjust the amount as needed) and stir gently. Let the mixture stand during 2-3 weeks until it is fermented. The mixture should be kept covered, warm and permeable to air, and stirred daily. As soon as no more foam is
formed when stirring, the fermented liquid manure is ripe and the liquid can be strained. Do not prepare in metal vessels. Odor development during manure production can be reduced or even completely eliminated by adding stone meal.
Making the broth:
Add 150 grams of horsetail pellets to about 10 liters of rainwater (adjust
amount as needed) and stir gently. Let the mixture stand for about 24 hours and then boil for about 20 minutes. Allow the broth to cool and strain.
Application of the broth and slurry:
Dilute mature slurry or broth with water in a ratio of 1:10 for watering in a watering can and for spraying in a sprayer. For spray application
(against fungal diseases and pests) treat leaves of plants dripping wet in dry weather and overcast skies.
Reapply regularly every 10-14 days until the end of the growing season. For rapidly spreading fungal infections, horsetail broth or liquid manure can be applied for 3 consecutive days. When watering application (for general
strengthening of plants) regularly water generously every 10-14 days in the root zone.
Tip:
Jauchen or broths of nettle, comfrey and horsetail can also be mixed.
