    Every airplane with more than nine seats has to carry an axe on the plane, according to the EASA requirements. The crash axe perfectly fulfills this task. It has a special alloy and is insulated against electric shocks. The axe has to be stored in the cockpit. In the past, the axes were meant to help escape the cockpit, but today, that is not
    the reason anymore. Nowadays, they help reach fire sources that appear in the cockpit behind a cover, or in the cabin.
