Thread repair assortment V-COIL

Drilling: Drill damaged thread with normal twist drills. For spark plug threads, no reaming is required, here use the combined drilling and cutting tool. Please note that larger holes are required for thread formers.

Check: Check tap and threaded bolt for same thread and pitch.


Tapping: Use the special taps to tap the receiving thread into the drilled hole. The use of cutting oil is recommended.

Install the thread insert: Place the insert on the tool and make sure that the tang is in the groove opening, then adjust it properly with the adjusting ring. Then under light pressure, screw in the
thread insert in the direction of the thread.

Do not turn against the running direction, the tang may break off.

Break tang: After installation, remove the insertion tool and remove the driving tang with the tang breaker. For larger sizes and for spark plug threads, use needle nose pliers to remove the tang. When
these operations are completed, the close and exact tolerances and the forming of the spring thread have produced a thread that is often better and stronger than the original thread.
