Wire rope, stainless steel 1.4401, in rings
- Consisting of best wire rope made of stainless steel 1.4401 / AISI 316
- Low twist and tension free
- According to EN 12385-4
Low twist and tension free wire ropes and their advantages
1. The strands of the ropes are preformed. Cut ropes maintain their position without the need to
tie the side at the interface.
2. Since all strands are uniformly stretched, the load is evenly distributed among all individual wires in the rope.
3. The ropes have only a slight tendency to form pitches.
4. The unloaded wire rope is stress-free because the wires have no preload. The ropes therefore show little tendency to twist under
load.
5. The ropes are characterized by quite particularly high flexibility.
6. Low-twist and tension-free ropes have a significantly increased service life compared to normal wire ropes.
Calculation of the load-bearing capacity:
The load-bearing capacity of the wire ropes is calculated from the minimum breaking load. This is
divided by the safety factor prescribed for the particular application.
Supporting force = **Minimum breaking load
6 (safety factor)
*Construction:
A wire rope consists of a number of strands, which in turn consist of a number of wires
z. B.: 7 x 7 -> 7 strands with 7 wires each
Important note:
The wire
ropes may only be used in accordance with the accident prevention regulations and the related EN standards, e.g. 12385-4, 13414 and 15020.
